The concept of the “lone sakura tree” is well sought after in Japan, but this one, standing dignified against a magnificent backdrop provided by Mt. Iwate, is particularly famous. In warmer months it can be seen alongside cows out to pasture, providing an especially pleasant view for cyclists as they coast down nearby bike trails. The Yakehashiri Lava Flow and Hachimantai Onsen-kyo, among other hot spring and tourist highlights can be found nearby.
雄大な岩手山を背景に凛と立つその一本桜（カスミザクラ）は、一本桜の中でも人気が高くて有名。
途中、放牧されている牛も見ることができ、サイクリストにとっても、このコースは長く楽しめる絶景ルートです。
付近には岩手山焼走り熔岩流、八幡平温泉郷があり、周辺の観光や温泉も楽しめます。
