Stone Village is a hybrid campsite started in July, 2021. It’s located just a minute or two away from the main road connected to the Matsuo-Hachimantai IC on the Tohoku Expressway.
Despite its compact size—you can look over the entire area from the management building—it has both organized lots and an open camp area. The owner also works in water line construction, and their engineering expertise is on full display here, with full running water. This means flushing toilets and segregated showers, ideal for children and women. Furthermore, the entire campground is supplied with Wi-Fi coverage, and its proximity to the interchange makes it a great option for solo campers taking a break from the expressway.
All visitors must reserve ahead, and the owner is often happy to share any spare timber they have on hand for firewood.

The owner has remarked that they are considering revamping the baths and organized lots in Spring 2022 in order to keep things fresh for repeat visitors, barring other ideas.
It’s a quaint little place that’s always evolving.
