This service area is located between the Nishine and Matsuo-Hachimantai Interchanges, and has a food court and souvenir shop. There is a large rest area with a great food menu.
We recommend the Mt. Iwate melon pan. It is a large sweet roll with an image of Mt. Iwate, a perfect souvenir. There are also many other dishes related to Mt. Iwate, such as their Yakehashiri Lava Flow Ramen, which is also fantastic.
Be sure to take a break at the Mt. Iwate Service Area (northbound) when driving on the expressway, and drive safely!
