This pension is the only place in the world where you can try geothermal dyeing, using geothermal steam, right here at Matsukawa Hot Springs, the location of the first geothermal power plant in Japan.
The hot springs bath here, with water from Matsukawa Hot Spring, is open 24 hours a day. You can get the chance to try out geothermal dying for yourself in an activity plan included in a one night stay. There’s a café right in the building, so you can enjoy relaxing there with excellent coffee as you gaze out at the beautiful scenery of the forested pond out the window.
The Japanese neapolitan spaghetti is highly recommended! Enjoy the power of Hachimantai’s geothermal heat and don’t miss the exquisite flavor of Hachimantai salmon while you’re here.
(A reservation is required at least a day in advance for Hachimantai Salmon dishes.)
